Mike “Superman” Sierra is a native of Miami, Florida. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2003. From 2004 to 2007, Mike served with 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, deploying to Iraq twice serving as Personal Security Detail for the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) directorate, MTT (Military transition team) PTT (Police transition team), and in his 2nd deployment served as Convoy security teams for Task Force MP (Military Police). In 2008, Mike Sierra graduated Marine Combat Instructor School and was assigned to Marine Combat Training Battalion, School of Infantry East (SOI-E) Where he conducted the training, and supervision of more than 16,000 entry level Marines and executed over 850 hours of platform instruction on topics such as patrolling, weapon systems, defensive tactics, military operations on urban terrain, day and night land navigation, and conducted numerous live fire ranges. Mike also served as a Marine Corps Martial Arts instructor trainer . In 2011, Mike Sierra was assigned to 2d Marine Special Operations Battalion (now, 2d Marine Raider Battalion).
In September 2012, Mike Sierra was honorably discharged from active duty as a Sergeant after almost 9 years of service. He has returned to Florida, where he remains active in serving other disabled veterans and volunteers as a Firefighter/Paramedic in his community. Mike is a proud husband and father.
